David Plowman, Green Councillor for Alexandra Ward, (Ipswich) displays an unbelievable depth of economic ignorance in his comment reported in the EADT on the 5th of August in respect of car parking charges in the town.
He says that car parks competing with each other will only push prices up. Basic economics tells us that competition reduces prices. It is cartels and monopolies that force prices up.
We deserve to have better councillors than those with this level of ignorance which brings shame on the Council, the counsellor personally and on the Green Party which sponsors him.
